Advanced User Systems joins MYOB as an OEM Partner
Many MYOB customers have been requesting "connectivity" between CRM
systems and the MYOB accounting system. To meet this demand MYOB released MYOB ODBC Direct
- a toolkit that would enable a developer to access MYOB data.
Advanced User Systems immediately made use of this technology to produce the first
version of "AccountLink" - bi-directional interface between Commence and MYOB.
This was released in January 2001.
We have now joined the MYOB OEM Partner Program, to provide an even more tightly
integrated solution with MYOB. Commence is one of a select few products given an
opportunity to participate in this program.
The OEM Partner Program means that we have access to exciting new technology from MYOB.
This offers more streamlined integration with the MYOB data, resulting in much easier
configuration and day-to-day usage. We are now licensed to redistribute the required MYOB
software components as part of the AccountLink package. Now there is only one installation
step and setup is a breeze, plus there is no additional software to purchase from MYOB.
The latest version of AccountLink, incorporating this technology, is currently in Beta
testing. Some of the new features include
- enhanced logging and error notification
- tight integration between Commence and MYOB
- configurable field names - for existing Commence customers
Configuration is by way of selecting your MYOB data file. No more loading access keys,
configuring ODBC drivers and testing, etc.
AccountLink bi-directionally synchronises data between Commence and your MYOB data
file. This means you can be making changes in Commence and at the same time, your
accounting staff can be using MYOB. Periodically (say nightly) AccountLink runs
automatically - picking up new company information, products and invoices.
Typical examples of how this is being used
- A customer service representative is advised of a new client address. This is updated in
Commence and AccountLink automatically handles the changes in MYOB.
- A salesperson creates a quote in Commence. The client decides to go ahead, the stock is
on hand and the salesperson can immediately convert the quote to an invoice, print and
send the goods with the invoice. AccountLink takes care of entering the invoice into MYOB.
- At the same time, accounting staff are issuing regular invoices. AccountLink is updating
Commence with this information, so at any time a sales person can see exactly what has
been sold.
Advanced User Systems will be demonstrating the new version of AccountLink at the MYOB
Certified Consultants 2003 Conference, 26 - 28 February.
